Health and Safety
Health and Safety is everyone’s responsibility. We are committed to providing and maintaining the highest level of health and safety standards, by ensuring that all risks and hazards associated with the event are adequately identified and managed to prevent harm from occurring to the event staff, participants, spectators and all other personnel involved in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
Please ensure you do your part and plan and act in a manner to keep yourself safe, follow the instructions of the event officials and to notify a member of the event team if you see any one who needs assistance or if you identify a hazard.
Check, Clean, Dry
It is a requirement of all participants swimming in this event to undertake CHECK CLEAN DRY protocols for all their gear (including wetsuits, togs etc.) PRIOR to arriving in Rotorua.
Following these protocols will assist in preventing the spread of pests, weeds and diseases.
You can read more about the threat and how you can play your part here.
Local Residents Information
While we aim to minimise disruption to the lakes community and other lake users during the event, we acknowledge that there will be some impact on you and we thank you for your ongoing support.
To assist with competitor safety, there will be times over the weekend when access to the lake and the surrounding roads will be affected. More details will be available later in the year and we will also undertake a letterdrop to the residents of Lake Okareka.
