Frequently Asked Questions
Can I run with my 4yr old?
Running together? Absolutely
Biking together? Afraid not. Once bikes get involved it turns into a tiny-wheeled version of Mad Max, and we’d like to avoid that..
Can I register on the day?
Yes — We still recommend registering online beforehand to make the morning smoother for everyone. Pay is via online bank transfer or cash only.
How does the Kererū race work? Are adults alongside teenagers?
The Kererū course is designed to be supportive and low-pressure, with adults and teenagers sharing the course space. It’s all about participation, confidence-building, and having a crack. Merit prizes for the Kererū are split into 2 categories: 9-13yr olds & 14 yrs and over. All ages from 9 yrs + will race together.
When do online registrations close?
Online registration closes the 5pm Thursday of race week
Is this qualifier's for Olympics?
This is a relaxed, community-focused event where the main goals are fun, confidence, and getting involved. We fully support dreaming of being the next Hayden Wilde — but for now we’re mostly aiming for safe corners, smiling athletes, and remembering that chocolate is at the finish!!
